Many
unceasing reminders went around channeling the various social media, announcing
the maiden Triplet Ladies Seminar (a sisters’ only program) of the Rayhan Yaqub
Foundation; another brain of Kabirat Ahmed Salihs, a sister who equalizes as
the author of the Light Upon Light (Nuurun alaa Nuur) books (3 editions)
The
Rayhan Yaqub Foundation just added up to the numerous existing ones but this
foundation utterly comes in a different approach. It focuses mainly on the
young Muslimahs and its operations are such that, the Muslimah youth will enjoy
free counseling, mentoring, packed Islamic programs, career guidance, personal
development and spiritual development, this is just to mention a few, and be
giving free Islamic books, audios and videos lectures, etc. Now; this is a non
profitable organization which really cares! Always don`t hesistate to contact us in shaa Allaah.
The Seminar which attracted Muslimat from
various destinations within Accra was such an insightful one which left in the
heart of attendants a profound Islamic knowledge and the quest to establish a
good relationship with Allah.
Personally
I benefited much from the seminar which is going to help me for life in my
struggles of becoming a better Muslimah, and I never can by analysis tell which
section of the seminar was the best because in each section I learnt something
new which tend to answer some unasked questions on my lips, and solved many
disturbing problems in my heart.
Many
at times we become so relaxed in inviting people to Islam; an activity which in
reality is an everyday responsibility. And this is not done only by preaching
Islam to them but as well the way we carry ourselves about speaks for Islam
therefore how positive or negative people will perceive Islam also depends on
our behaviors.
Reviving a Sense of Responsibility in the Muslimah by Hajia Huraira Abdul Razak
To
be able to achieve this, Hajia Huraira Abdul Razak handled the first section of
the seminar, on the topic ‘reviving the sense of responsibility in the Muslimah,’
and truly at the end of her lectures she was able to revive any dead sense of
responsibility in us, in me especially.
She
focused on how as Muslimahs we can positively touch people lives in our
communities and further stressed on the need to make it part of our daily
lives. In summary, the followings are some of the excerpts from her lecture;
‘If
Allah SWT has saved you to understand Islam, don't look down on those lacking
the understanding of the Deen (Religion). Be environmentally friendly and let
your attitude bring them into Islam’
‘Make
the world a better place for yourself and your environment as a Muslimah. Don’t
be a threat to your environment, be a character that everyone hopes to
emulate.’
‘Nobody
is perfect but as we continue in our struggles to be better Muslimahs Allah
will surely help us.’ Etc.
These among other messages were what she advised to
the Muslimahs, and no doubt, it was obvious these messages didn’t fall on deaf
ears due to the attentiveness paid by the audience and the questions from the
audience during the questioning segment, and these are indeed, messages to
reflect upon each passing day of our lives if we so mean it a great deal to
revive the sense of responsibility in us, otherwise it is such a painful thing
to our souls to have been blessed with these powerful messages and still not
act according to them.
I believe I can fly ( back to Allah) ! By Imam Abdul
Wahab Jassaw
This is another somewhat disputable topic which sets thoughts
running through our minds till justice was done to it.
‘I believe I can fly .... (back to Allah), how? This
topic is telling us that if we will submit our will completely to that of
Allah’s and fear Him, depend solely on Him and practise the Deen the accepted
way then we will feel Him close hence to delight in the good relationship we
have instituted with Allaah azza wa jal.
As we struggle to be better Muslims, we hope in our
struggles that we will maintain a good relationship with Allah, therefore ‘I
believe I can fly.... (back to Allah) literally means hoping in our efforts of
becoming dutiful servants of Allah so as to get close to Him.
Imam Abdul Wahab gave a very detailed lecture on this
wonderful topic in the second section of the seminar. He as well gave a lecture
with full of advices and guidance to becoming a better Muslimah.
I really learnt a whole lot from this section too and
anytime I reflect on the lessons acquired, I realised they are something worth
making my life a beautiful one as a Muslimah.
I could read over them over and over and at each time
I feel the need to live an exemplary life. However, the following excerpts are
some of the sermon from the topic ‘I Believe I Can Fly........(Back To Allah)
lectured by Imam Abdul Wahab.
‘We
need to be compassionate. In fact we must be compassionate as Muslims. Speak in
a way that will not offend the feelings of others. Let your attitude make
people inquisitive of your religion in a positive way.’
‘Be
considerate when building up a good character. Consider the behaviour of
others, they may not be as pious as you are. Tolerate their behaviours, talk to
them with lots of patience and that will even help you in your good character
building.’
‘Let's
carry ourselves along as we fly back to Allah. Don't leave the weak in Eeman
down the road! Yes! You may find certain faults in them but please advise them
in such a way that they don`t see themselves as the worst people, and after you
have advised them don't shout their faults out to the world. You may use their
mistakes to advice others but let names remain anonymous! If you are blessed to
be pious please just help those down.’
‘What
is your pride as a Muslim; Is it in material things? Is it the fact that you
are a Muslim? What is your pride?
‘We
are not where we are supposed to be in life because we have left Allah for
long. It is about time we go back to Him to gain His full blessings; something
that we really deserve’
This is it! These are the messages which helped me
developed the spiritual wings to fly back to Allah, which I believe everyone
present at the seminar have too.
The final section of the seminar treated a common but
extremely important topic;
‘The Muslimah Muslimah Palaver’ handled by Aunty
Zubaida Issah.
This topic discussed the various issues among women,
and the ability to tolerate each other.
Women always find it very difficult to accommodate
each other’s opinions, status, confidence etc for long therefore confusion
always creeps in at wherever women are together. This is the reality among
women.
But in actual reality we are supposed to coexist
contrary to this kind of behaviour as love and tolerance are some of the main
point Islam emphasises on.
Pride is one thing which destroys relations,
friendship and even good reputation hence it should be dealt with as a matter
of urgency.
Though this kind of self conceit attitude, gossiping,
jealousy etc is with men as well, but it is very habitual among women.
The lecture went on and on and on appealing to the
sense of humility in us to prevail over our pride and ego, which for sure that
purpose was achieved, for as Muslimahs we must not engage in social vices such
as backbiting, suspicion, giving bad nicknames to people and so on.
This topic ended the seminar successfully and
personally I was so uplifted and hopeful that I was going to apply whatever I learnt
to be able to revive the sense of responsibility in me, fly back to Allah and
avoid any sort of ill feeling or whatsoever towards my fellow Muslimahs and the
entire Ummah at large.
May Allah bless the speakers, and all those who
honoured the invitation to make this educative program a success. May the
entire team of RYF be granted with strength for more beneficial works ahead,
and to the general public, keep praying and give your support to this noble
foundation, for RYF is the birth of a great idea which has come to stay to help
lift up the falling youth in Islam, especially the Muslimahs, in order to revive
the Islam in them just as the foundation’s slogan goes; ‘Reviving the Islam in
You’.
So dear Muslimahs, you are always welcome to RYF with
any problem troubling you, and In Shaa Allah your problem will be solved.
All Perfections belong to Allah SWT alone.
