RYF Triplet Ladies` Seminar: Sis. Aisha Hillary Shares with us

In the name of Allaah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful

Lessons from the Triplet Ladies Seminar Accra

Assallaamu alaykum warahmatullaahi wa barakaatu my beloved sisters in Islam.
Alhamdulilaah,

I participated in the just ended Triplet Ladies Seminar Organized by the Rayhan Yaqub Foundation, on the 24th of January,2015, at the Daarul Arkam Academy situated near the Alajo polo park in Accra.

I must confess the seminar was beyond my expectation, I really learnt a lot and I’m glad to share with you In Shaa Allaah!

The seminar started with a heart touching movie followed by a three different lectures by three different amazing speakers.

LESSONS FROM THE MOVIE “A CHANGE OF HEART”

  •  If one truly repents, the repentance should exclusively be for the sake of Allah.
  • People should not be judged based on their past mistakes because no one is faultless since in one way or the other we all make mistakes.
  •  All and sundry should be careful the way they live their lives because even if Allah forgives us our sins it may go a long way to distress us in this world.
  • Also, communication is a very effective tool to establishing a healthy relationship.
  •  We should all know that Allah is Al GafuuruRaheem, (the oft Forgiving and merciful) who accepts sincere repentance thus once we truly repent, we need to desist from the sins, never again to look back to them.

REVIVING A SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY IN A MUSLIMAH by Hajia Hurairah Abdul Razak

The responsibility of a muslimah can be categorized into many different types such as the responsibility of;

  •  The Muslimah to her fellow muslimah.
  •  The Muslimah to her husband.
  •  The Muslimah to her children.
  •  The Muslimah to her community among others.

However, this discussion is going to be focused on the responsibility of the Muslimah to the ummah.
The Muslimahs are advised not to just be ritualistic; that is, declaring the testimony of faith (shahaadah), performing the five daily prayers (salaat), charity (zakaat), fasting in the month of Ramadan (saum) and pilgrimage to Makkah (hajj) because our responsibilities go beyond ritualism.
Ultimately all we have to do is to indulge in activities that will raise the banner of Islam on a high scale. In so doing, we should as well be environmental friendly, make the world a better place for us and even the generations to come after us.

I BELIEVE I CAN FLY BACK…..TO ALLAH by Imam Abdul Wahab Jassaw

In a whole, good character encompasses ‘knowing where your pride lies’ and ‘being righteous’. Having self-prided as Muslimahs is an essential thing all Muslimahs must inculcate. But we must take note that having pride is different from being arrogant, as most people see both as one. Moreover, we are obliged to take other sisters along with us when flying back to Allah.
Now how do we build a good character to fly back Allah?
The answer is the 4 Cs which are Listening to your CONSCIENCE, being COMPASSIONATE, CONSIDERATION and CARRYING OTHERS ALONG.
Another advice given was that we should really mean what we say and say what we mean. Think about it!

Muslimah Muslimah Palaver by Hajia Zubaida Issah

This topic talks about one of the most challenging issues faced by the Muslimat in our communities, schools and the world at large. Each Muslimah has a responsibility on her fellow Muslimah. This is not to say that Muslimat do not have to love non believing women, but once we behave well with our fellow Muslim sisters, we can do the same for non- muslimahs In Shaa Allah
This is stated in a Hadith which explains the six rights of a Muslim to a Muslim in general.
1.    Saying assallaamualikum wa rahmatullah wa barakaatu to your fellow Muslims and responding to greetings of your muslims
2.    Visiting your sick Muslim.
3.    Honoring the invitation of your fellow Muslim.
4.    Responding yarhamukillaahu when a Muslim sneezes and says Alhamdulilaah
5.    Taking part in the funeral rituals of a Muslim.
6.    And finally when a Muslim seeks advice we should do well to give a good and Islamic advice.

This can be related to Muslimahs loving themselves for Allah’s sake.
